Commission: This IS the Droid You're Looking For...But He's Taken.

This commission was done for Bethany Deal, a costume designer extraordinaire from California and total Star Wars fan to the core, she has a soft spot for R2D2, so I paired them up into a cantina scene, complete with some funky aliens, including a cameo from my own original character, Cosmoknight (you can read his webcomic here )!  Enjoy, my fellow nerds. SLC Comic Con - Recap

Rufusman had an amazing time at the SLC Comic Con FanXperience, just letting you all know right now.  Any opportunity for nerds and geeks like me to congregate is welcome, it's like coming home...  Made some new friends (including Larp Girl and artist Eric Limas ) and signed some conceptual design prints for the upcoming movie, LARP .  We have less than a month left to raise funds for this awesome movie on Kickstarter, you can find the link here .  Check it out and show some love (and by "love" I mean cash) for the latest and greatest project Rufusman is involved with! Now for some photos: Another one of my new friends, Mary, dressed as Little Red Riding Hood!  She works for the San Diego Comic Con and puts my own geek knowledge to shame.

Comic Con SLC – the Sequel

Rufusman is coming to Comic Con in SLC this April 17 – 19 th !   He’ll have his very own artist’s booth, Y3!   And yes, I was speaking in the 3 rd person… …anyways!   Expect to find Rufusman (that’s me) drawing up some caricatures for patrons , selling prints, and updating everyone on the latest in Yonder Comics and all things Rufus! Comic Con will be here in just a couple weeks and it’s going to be a blast, so I hope to see you all there, intrepid fans!

LARP the Movie!!!

Oh yeah, it's happening, people.  Rufusman is drawing stuff for a movie.  And not just any movie, oh no.  A geek flick.  You can be jealous. So one of the crazy things Rufusman has been up to lately is conceptual art for the upcoming movie LARP .   It’s about, well, live action role playing, but as one who’s read the script, I can tell you it’s all that and a bag of holding, if you catch my meaning.   I won’t give out any spoilers, but I’d say it’s got the makings of a cult classic.   The co-writer and director, Nick Dunn, called me in to do conceptual artwork and storyboards for this film.   Verily, I feel very lucky to be part of this awesome team of fellow storytellers.   Here’s some of the artwork I’ve done so far, enjoy.   Also be sure to check out LARP on their website, http://www.larpthemovie.com/

Much has transpired for yours truly since the last post.  Cosmoknight issue #0 was a hit during Comic Con SLC (the very first in Utah and the largest debut to date in Con history!).  Rufus worked like a madman at his booth, signing copies of the exclusive edition, meeting awesome people, and drawing caricatures pretty much non-stop.  But Rufusman was just getting started.  Yonder Comics debuted later that fall, the new home of Cosmoknight, where you can find the link to his current webcomic and first issue, by clicking here .  It still is a huge learning curve, but it's been thrilling the entire way!  Much is still under development as Rufus continues to post a new page of Cosmoknight each week.  Stay tuned for more updates on the website!

It's here!

The big week of the Con has arrived. For those coming to see the sights and pay us a visit, here's a quick update: due to circumstances out of our control, the Rufusman booth has changed from #901 to #134. Never fear, true believers! Joel's latest balloon masterpiece will still be there, as will some hard copies of "Cosmoknight issue#0." For those who want a copy: THANK YOU for the love - please be patient as I hash out pricing details. I've got to work out my margins then I'll let you guys in on the price for this first run. I may run out of copies during the Con. If the demand for more is high enough, I can do a second run of issue#0. Here's me holding the proof copy, in shock:
